For me: a train forever west, fragrance of old steel, engine smoke. By day, the view car: wraparound glass and free chardonnay, always west through fields of new corn, muscled mountains, whitewater river, occasional deer, cinnamon feathered ducklings. By night, the compartment, my reflection in the black window. I always sleep well: rocking, constellation stars, occasional moon, sometimes the purple curtain of aurora borealis.
