Betsy Mize Currie was born in 1956 in Saigon and grew up overseas (in North Africa and the Middle East, mostly). She went to high school and college in New England and graduate school in art history, in New York City. She and her husband and two sons moved to the West Coast in 1989 and she now resides in the Pacific Northwest. Currie has been an artist since she was a little girl and works almost every day in her studio or gardens.  She is a magpie for color and believes in the power of beauty and color to nourish us.
