By Christopher Nye
I dreamt the laptop in our bedroom
only achieved its stupendous power
with the help of demons that, of course,
exact their price. In my science
fiction dream these beings imperceptibly
rewired our brains and addicted us.
Marching out of the motherboard,
they parasitized our thinking,
our feeling, and our will
so that only with prodigious love
and exuberant creativity
could we force them into retreat.
